Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK), which rose 9.13% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.630 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) added 6.91% or 0.530 points to end at 8.200 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) was up 6.07% or 6.50 points to 113.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which lost 8.47% or 2.00 points to trade at 21.60 in late trade. Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) declined 5.14% or 0.130 points to end at 2.400 and Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) shed 4.72% or 1.82 points to 36.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 246 to 112 and 49 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1301.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.78% or 1.15 to hit $65.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 1.53 to trade at $76.89 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.56% to 4.4842, while EUR/TRY fell 1.12% to 5.3031.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.40.
