Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Basic Metals and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.87%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA), which rose 13.27% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.220 at the close. Meanwhile, Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 10.50% or 1.05 points to end at 11.05 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 6.65% or 0.23 points to 3.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA), which fell 0.13% or 0.05 points to trade at 39.15 at the close. Turkcell (IS:TCELL) added 0.42% or 0.05 points to end at 12.00 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) was up 0.55% or 0.010 points to 1.830.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 343 to 56 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.41% or 4.50 to $1108.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.76% or 1.69 to hit $43.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.80% or 1.43 to trade at $49.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.03% to 2.7784, while EUR/TRY rose 0.25% to 3.0713.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.20.
