* The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE fell 92.12 points, or 0.58 percent, to 15,854.05.
* Leading the index were Aphria Inc APH.TO , up 6.8 percent, Hudbay Minerals Inc HBM.TO , up 4.5 percent, and Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd AAV.TO , higher by 4.1 percent.
* Lagging shares were Pretium Resources Inc PVG.TO , down 11.1 percent, Cascades Inc CAS.TO , down 9.3 percent, and Interfor Corp IFP.TO , lower by 7.5 percent.
* On the TSX 76 issues rose and 165 fell as a 0.5-to-1 ratio favored decliners. There were 3 new highs and 29 new lows, with total volume of 227.5 million shares.
* The most heavily traded shares by volume were Aurora Cannabis Inc ACB.TO , Aphria Inc APH.TO and Manulife Financial Corp MFC.TO .
* The TSX's energy group .SPTTEN fell 0.88 points, or 0.46 percent, while the financials sector .SPTTFS slipped 1.25 points, or 0.41 percent.
* West Texas Intermediate crude futures CLc1 rose 0.77 percent, or $0.57, to $74.86 a barrel. Brent crude LCOc1 rose 1.28 percent, or $1.07, to $84.98 O/R
* The TSX is off 2.2 percent for the year.
