* The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE fell 376.04 points, or 2.46 percent, to 14,909.13.
* Biggest one-day percentage drop for TSX since September 2015
* Leading the index were Capital Power Corp CPX.TO , up 2.5 percent, Fortis Inc FTS.TO , up 2.5 percent, and Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp AQN.TO , higher by 1.8 percent.
* Lagging shares were First Quantum Minerals Ltd FM.TO , down 9.1 percent, Bombardier Inc BBDb.TO , down 8.6 percent, and New Gold Inc NGD.TO , lower by 8.2 percent.
* On the TSX 33 issues rose and 212 fell as a 0.2-to-1 ratio favored decliners. There were 2 new highs and 37 new lows, with total volume of 289.8 million shares.
* The most heavily traded shares by volume were Aurora Cannabis Inc ACB.TO , Bombardier Inc BBDb.TO and Aphria Inc APH.TO .
* The TSX's energy group .SPTTEN fell 6.04 points, or 3.52 percent, while the financials sector .SPTTFS slipped 7.69 points, or 2.65 percent.
* West Texas Intermediate crude futures CLc1 fell 0.24 percent, or $0.16, to $66.27 a barrel. Brent crude LCOc1 fell 1.22 percent, or $0.93, to $75.51 O/R
* The TSX is off 8 percent for the year.
