Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Biomed, Communication and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 lost 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TA:TSEM), which rose 2.82% or 153 points to trade at 5587 at the close. Liveperson (TA:LPSN) added 1.04% or 77 points to end at 7487 and Shufersal (TA:SAE) was up 0.52% or 13 points to 2497 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which lost 6.91% or 93 points to trade at 1253 in late trade. Elbit Systems Ltd (TA:ESLT) declined 2.62% or 1170 points to end at 43480 and Delek Group (TA:DLEKG) shed 2.53% or 1700 points to 65450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 236 to 149 and 29 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.57% or 1.43 to $57.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.81% or 1.84 to hit $67.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1202.20 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.16% to 3.6944, while EUR/ILS rose 0.33% to 4.1782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 96.91.
