Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which rose 5.59% or 15.740 points to trade at 297.190 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) added 4.90% or 7.990 points to end at 171.090 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) was up 3.46% or 1.000 points to 29.930 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 5.15% or 1.040 points to trade at 19.170 in late trade. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 3.36% or 1.450 points to end at 41.680 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.06% or 0.65 points to 30.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 73 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.31% or 3.80 to $1220.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.74% or 0.32 to hit $43.73 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 20.7142, while EUR/MXN rose 0.11% to 22.2514.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.05% at 100.03.
