Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 2.11% or 19.60 points to trade at 949.98 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 1.64% or 1.030 points to end at 63.900 and BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA) was up 1.37% or 1.58 points to 117.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which lost 2.56% or 0.420 points to trade at 16.000 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.14% or 0.640 points to end at 29.240 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) shed 1.93% or 0.27 points to 13.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 136 to 128 and 20 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.96% or 11.50 to $1191.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $67.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $74.78 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.23% to 18.9586, while EUR/MXN rose 0.77% to 21.8828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 95.54.
