Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 3.52% or 4.89 points to trade at 143.79 at the close. NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) added 3.09% or 12.55 points to end at 419.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.83% or 16.60 points to 924.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 5.42% or 31.5 points to trade at 550.0 in late trade. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) declined 2.78% or 48.0 points to end at 1680.0 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) shed 2.67% or 20.0 points to 728.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 80 and 29 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.35% to 22.980.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.43% or 5.20 to $1226.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.54% or 1.08 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.68 to trade at $74.87 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.01% to 62.2550, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 72.8746.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.24.
