Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 3.13% or 6.70 points to trade at 220.60 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 2.54% or 9.05 points to end at 365.00 and Sberbank (MCX:SBER) was up 2.13% or 3.40 points to 163.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which lost 6.09% or 0.0136 points to trade at 0.2089 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 4.81% or 0.1840 points to end at 3.6400 and ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) shed 3.80% or 50.5 points to 1279.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 125 to 89 and 20 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.55% to 26.910.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.07% or 13.35 to $1236.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.75% or 0.94 to hit $52.89 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.74% or 0.98 to trade at $55.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.71% to 58.6959, while EUR/RUB rose 0.44% to 61.721.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 102.09.
