Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Iron & Steel, Textile and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chenming Mold (TW:3013), which rose 10.00% or 1.80 points to trade at 19.80 at the close. Jenn Feng (TW:1538) added 10.00% or 0.58 points to end at 6.38 and Jung Shing Wir (TW:1617) was up 9.92% or 0.64 points to 7.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which lost 5.56% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.25 in late trade. Green Energy (TW:3519) declined 4.76% or 0.85 points to end at 17.00 and Candmark (TW:5259) shed 4.76% or 0.10 points to 2.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 393 to 315 and 136 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.50% or 0.22 to $43.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.33% or 0.15 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1319.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.22% to 31.358, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2125.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.72.
