Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Genesis Photonics Inc (TW:3383), which rose 10.00% or 0.33 points to trade at 3.63 at the close. Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) added 10.00% or 3.15 points to end at 34.65 and CX Technology Corp (TW:2415) was up 10.00% or 2.50 points to 27.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VIA Technologies Inc (TW:2388), which lost 9.69% or 4.10 points to trade at 38.20 in late trade. Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375) declined 8.55% or 4.70 points to end at 50.30 and Basso Industry Corp (TW:1527) shed 7.88% or 5.20 points to 60.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 439 to 371 and 105 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.60% or 0.39 to $65.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.26 to hit $75.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1295.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 29.800, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2149.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 94.03.
