Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Technology and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan Karton Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARTN), which rose 9.66% or 25.70 points to trade at 291.70 at the close. Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 7.68% or 18.90 points to end at 264.90 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) was up 6.85% or 1.98 points to 30.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which lost 2.20% or 0.40 points to trade at 17.76 in late trade. Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS) declined 1.64% or 0.14 points to end at 8.41 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) shed 1.54% or 0.120 points to 7.680.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 315 to 54 and 36 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.21 to $1287.59 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.19% or 0.62 to hit $51.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.59 to trade at $56.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.44% to 3.5621, while EUR/TRY fell 0.17% to 4.1986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 93.09.
