Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Holdings & Investments and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 10.71% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.310 at the close. Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) added 6.45% or 0.200 points to end at 3.300 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was up 5.98% or 0.45 points to 7.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which lost 2.25% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.740 in late trade. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) declined 1.89% or 0.030 points to end at 1.560 and Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) shed 1.12% or 0.010 points to 0.880.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 303 to 52 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.50% or 6.65 to $1318.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.75% or 0.81 to hit $47.14 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.61% or 0.77 to trade at $48.54 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.33% to 2.8980, while EUR/TRY fell 1.14% to 3.2020.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.42.
