Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Electricity and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 1.74% or 5.20 points to trade at 303.30 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) added 1.63% or 0.29 points to end at 18.12 and Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) was up 0.84% or 0.060 points to 7.210 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which lost 4.90% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.74 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 4.39% or 0.090 points to end at 1.960 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) shed 4.21% or 0.480 points to 10.920.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 296 to 57 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.65% or 8.25 to $1286.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $52.94 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.42% to 3.6647, while EUR/TRY rose 0.03% to 3.9002.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 100.37.
