Hess Corporation is an exploration and production company. The Company is engaged in exploration, development, production, transportation, purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and natural gas, with production operations located primarily in the United States, Guyana, the Malaysia/Thailand Joint Development Area (JDA), and Malaysia. The Company operates through two segments: Exploration and Production and Midstream. The Exploration and Production segment explores for, develops, produces, purchases and sells crude oil, NGL and natural gas. The Midstream segment provides fee-based services, including crude oil and natural gas gathering, processing of natural gas and the fractionation of NGL, transportation of crude oil by rail car, terminalling and loading crude oil and NGL, storing and terminalling propane, and water handling services primarily in the Bakken shale play in the Williston Basin area of North Dakota.
