At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed 0.39%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture rose 0.07%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.11%.
Enghouse Systems (TSX:ENGH): Rose 4.21% or 1.22 points to 30.22
North West (TSX:NWC): Climbed 3.19% or 1.56 points to 50.48
Energy Fuels Inc (TSX:EFR): Increased 2.05% or 0.120 points to 5.980
Celestica Inc (TSX:CLS).: Fell 4.55% or 2.82 points to 59.18
Aya Gold & Silver (TSX:AYA): Declined 1.76% or 0.240 points to 13.400
Lundin Mining (TSX:LUN): Dropped 1.83% or 0.220 points to 11.790
In Commodities Trading:
- November Brent Oil Contract increased by 1.05% or 0.76 points to 73.45 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for October delivery rose 0.87 points to 70.02 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery fell 5.40 points to 2,537.70 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is over 1.35 line.
- EUR/CAD is trading at 1.4968 at the time of writing.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 101.277.
Main Economic Events:
Today's economic calendar for Canada include employment numbers. Both the unemployment rate and the employment change were worse than expected. The US nonfarm payroll data is also watched.
