Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, General Retailers and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares higher while losses in the Leisure Goods, Industrial Engineering and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.02%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which rose 1.83% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) added 1.31% or 0.285 points to end at 22.010 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 1.03% or 1.75 points to 170.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 3.34% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.87 at the close. Alcatel Lucent SA (PA:ALUA) declined 2.25% or 0.085 points to end at 3.695 and Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) was down 2.13% or 0.34 points to 15.41.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which rose 5.12% to 34.900, Lagardere S.C.A. (PA:LAGA) which was up 2.98% to settle at 27.45 and JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which gained 2.45% to close at 36.76.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 10.21% to 8.95 in late trade, Maurel Et Prom (PA:MAUP) which lost 5.04% to settle at 3.28 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 4.46% to 25.785 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 413 to 311 and 53 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.22% to 21.69.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.11% or 1.20 to $1089.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.44% or 0.63 to hit $44.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.35 to trade at $48.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.0692, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7079.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 99.46.
